EMMAUS, Pa. — A former program manager and senior director of ArtsQuest will be the new executive director of a new local arts nonprofit center.
And the center plans to open its first summer camp for young artists, a has hired a new executive director.
Juxtahub has tapped Ryan Hill, who served as its chief programming officer since April, to lead it, the center said in an email.
Juxtahub is located at 375 S. 10 St.
“Ryan’s vision and leadership have been instrumental in transforming JuxtaHub from concept to reality,” Juxtahub board President Gary Guthrie said.
“His deep expertise in nonprofit arts management, combined with his commitment to accessibility and innovation, makes him the ideal person to guide JuxtaHub into its next chapter.”
Hill was with ArtsQuest for 14 years. He also worked for the Civic Theatre of Allentown and State Theatre Center for the Arts in Easton.
Since April, at Juxtahub, Hill has helped establish a new ceramic studio, an arts education program and new hours at the space.
The center is open from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday-Friday.

In his new role, Hill will develop JuxtaHub’s first arts-and-innovation summer camp for ages 6 to 12 and organize an inaugural event that will showcase work by the hub’s 18 resident artists.

Among the artists are: Kat Collins, Rhiannon Davis, Pam Dent, Rosemary Geseck, Pam Gontram, Ana Hamilton, Deming King Harrison, Jill Italiano and House of Metalworks.
Also, Ramon Peralta, Tony Schultz, Anthony Smith Jr., David Sommers, Olaf Starorypinkski, Hisao Taya, Billy Thompson and Tyrone J. Webb ll.
“JuxtaHub was born from a vision shared by more than 40 Emmaus residents who saw the need for a community arts center that could serve as a catalyst for creativity and connection,” Hill said.
“I’m honored to lead this organization as we expand access to the arts, support our resident artists, and continue proving that innovation happens when creativity and technology converge.”
Hill will attend the gallery's JuxTuesday, an event held every second Tuesday of the month, from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13.
Attendees can meet the resident artists, along with chefs from Boodelicious Cakes, who will demonstrate the basics of cookie decorating.
There also will be an unveiling of the center's new classroom.
