UPPER SAUCON TWP., Pa. — A popular Pocono-based brewery is setting up shop at the Promenade Saucon Valley.

Barley Creek Brewing Company announced on Facebook that its newest taproom is under construction and will open next month at the shopping center.

The new 3,119-square-foot taproom will be between Melt and Kome.

A release from the brewing company said the Center Valley location will feature a full bar with "100% Pennsylvania products" including Barley Creek craft beers, canned cocktails, local wines and signature drinks.

"The Promenade is the perfect home for our newest taproom, and we can't wait to welcome guests this fall."

Taproom Saucon is set to be game-day ready, the release said, with "big-screen TVs throughout the space."

In April, Promenade Saucon Valley General Manager Patrick Turner said the shopping center feels proud to house the brewery's newest taproom.

Turner said its reputation for "quality and community engagement," is a "perfect fit" for the space.

"We're thrilled to bring Barley Creek to Saucon Valley and share our passion for delivering hospitality and Pennsylvania-made craft beverages with this vibrant community," Owner Trip Ruvane said.

"The Promenade is the perfect home for our newest taproom, and we can't wait to welcome guests this fall."

Expansion for shopping center, too

Barley Creek's experience dates to 1995 in the Pocono Mountains, when the brewpub was established by Eileen and Trip Ruvane "with a traditional Pennsylvania timber-frame barn raising," the company's website says.

The original Tannersville location features a brewery and distillery for its craft beers and spirits, including vodka, whiskey, rum and gin.

One of its drinks — agave and moonshine — was awarded Best Gin Martini in America by the American Distilling Institute.

It's not just an expansion for the "Pocono-born" microbrewery, but the shopping center, too.

The April release from Promenade Saucon Valley said the taproom will allow the center to expand its Sip & Shop program, which provides shoppers 21 years and older (with valid ID) "the opportunity to enjoy an alcoholic beverage while shopping at the center."

"From day one, our goal has been to create spaces where people can come together, enjoy award-winning food and beverages, and make lasting memories. Taproom Saucon will carry that tradition forward in a fresh new way."

Sip & Shop was limited to special events, such as Girls Night Out and Party at the Patio. But the new Saucon Taproom will let guests Sip & Shop year-round, the shopping center said.

The new location will be open from 11:01 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11:01 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11:01 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sundays.

Barley Creek is hiring for the new taproom, with several positions available. Those interested can apply by emailing Iwanttowork@barleycreek.com.

"This expansion represents an exciting milestone for Barley Creek," Barley Creek Brewing Company Chief Executive Officer Stephanie Rath said.
