BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Community Bank has completed its acquisition of seven Santander Bank branches in the Lehigh Valley.

The nearly $81 million business transaction was announced in June. Community Bank said it has put it in a Top 5 market position.

The transaction added the following branches to Community Bank's footprint in the Lehigh Valley:

It also adds about $553 million in consumer deposit accounts, according to a news release.

Community Bank Chief Executive Officer Dimita A. Karaianov previously called the expansion "a natural fit" as the banking company looks to expand further into Northeastern Pennsylvania.

“We are delighted to welcome the employees and customers of these seven branches to Community Bank," Karaianov said in a release.

"Our commitment is to ensure a smooth transition and deliver the exceptional service our customers expect from the same dedicated team of professionals they have come to know and trust.

"We look forward to building lasting relationships and supporting the Greater Lehigh Valley community with trusted, personalized banking.”

With more than $16 billion in assets and about 200 customer facilities throughout New York, Vermont, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts, Community Bank's completed acquisition means it now operates 12 branches in the Lehigh Valley.
